Ethical Research Clearance

A. Application Procedure

Before applying for ethical clearance, researchers must prepare the following documents:

  • Ethical Clearance Application Form - The form is attached in the appendices.
  • Research Proposal - The proposal must be comprehensive and systematic, including background, research question, research objectives, methodology, data analysis, dissemination plan, questionnaire (if any), and references.

After all documents have been completed, please email the necessary documents to research@uiii.ac.id.

B. Review Process

  1. The Directorate of Research and Strategic Cooperation will review the received application documents.

  2. UIII Ethical Board Review will analyze document completeness, compliance of methodology with ethical research principles, protection of subject rights, and potential research risks.

  3. Researchers may be contacted by the Directorate of Research and Strategic Cooperation for clarification or document revisions if necessary.

C. Review Outcome

The Directorate of Research and Strategic Cooperation will issue a review decision within a maximum of 14 working days after receiving complete documents.

The review decision can be:

  • Approved: Ethical clearance is issued, and the researcher can start the research.
  • Approved with Revisions: The researcher needs to revise documents based on reviewer notes and resubmit the application.
  • Rejected: The researcher can appeal by submitting an explanation and addressing the shortcomings leading to rejection.
